VOLKER MAY RUN FOR COURT WEIGHS GOP SENATE PROBLEM.(Local)

Sen. Dale Volker, R- Depew, said Tuesday he may run for the state Supreme Court in the fall unless it can be shown his departure would endanger Republican control of the Senate.

"I've been approached by some people to think about it and I'm going to think about it," said Volker, who previously has turned down requests to run for district attorney or Erie County executive.

Volker said he has not discussed his plans with Senate Majority Leader Ralph J. Marino, R-Muttontown, because: "I don't think it has progressed to that point.
