Fed: Govt denies its made decision on paid maternity leave
The federal government has denied it's made a decision on paid maternity leave.
Sex Discrimination Commissioner PRU GOWARD has recommended the government adopt a schemewhich would see mothers receive income up to $431 a week for up to 14 weeks.
The Age newspaper says the government will adopt the scheme as the centrepiece of nextyear's Budget.
But Family and Community Services Minister AMANDA VANSTONE says the report isn't true.
She says no decision has been made on paid maternity leave.
