QLD: Beattie warns of charges over One Nation "fraud" = 3

National Party state director Ken Crooke said calls for prosecutions may be premature.

"That's a matter for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to determine," Mr Crooke
said.

"We would expect the matter to be assessed and justice to take its course.

"If the judgment is subject to appeal, the DPP may have to wait until the appeal processes
are finished and then make a judgment on what further action needs to be taken."

Nevertheless, Mr Crooke could not resist having a dig at One Nation over today's court
decision.

"I think 'here we go again'," he said.

"One Nation just doesn't seem to be able to abide by the rules or fill out its paperwork."

Opposition leader Rob Borbidge said he was pleased no fresh election was needed.

He said he now hoped the National Party could regain electoral ground lost to One Nation.

"We have to respect the will of the people and the will of the people has not been
overturned by this court decision," Mr Borbidge said.
